What's the difference between positive and negative head?

Positive head means the cold water tank sits well above the shower (gravity feed); negative head means the shower is at or above tank level. Fitting the wrong type is a common cause of pumps not starting — we identify which yours needs.

Why is my shower pump so noisy?

A pump that has become loud is usually suffering from worn bearings, an airlock, or hard mounting that transmits vibration. We can often quieten it with re-bleeding and anti-vibration fittings, or replace it if the bearings have gone.

Can a shower pump run off a combi boiler?

No — shower pumps are for gravity-fed (tank) systems, not mains-pressure combi systems. If you're on a combi and have weak pressure the fix is different, and we'll advise on the right solution for your setup.
