Your privacy matters to Us. This Privacy Policy explains how We collect, use, share and protect Your personal data when You contact Us, request a quote, book Our Services, or use Our website at https://emergencyplumbers247.uk.
We have written this policy in plain English so You can understand what We do with Your information and the rights You have. If anything in here is unclear, please contact Us using the details at the bottom of this page.
1. Who We Are
We are Gastech 24/7 Plumbing & Heating Services, a Gas Safe registered plumbing and heating business based at 20 Southlands Grove, Riddlesden, Keighley, West Yorkshire BD20 5HA.
For the purposes of UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, We are the data controller for any personal data We collect about You. That means We decide why We collect Your data and how We use it.
You can reach Us by phone on 07598 088229, by email at info@emergencyplumbers247.uk, or by post at the address above.
2. What Personal Data We Collect
We only collect personal data that We genuinely need to provide Our Services to You. The categories of data We may collect are:
- Contact details — Your name, phone number, email address and postal address (so We can speak to You, book a Service and attend the right property).
- Service details — the type of plumbing or heating issue You have, the service You are requesting, and any description You provide about the work (so We can send the right engineer with the right parts).
- Booking and job records — date and time of Your Booking, attendance notes, parts fitted, photographs of work where relevant, and any quote or invoice We issue.
- Communications — emails, text messages, WhatsApp messages.
- Website usage data — anonymous or pseudonymous information about how You interact with Our website, collected through Our analytics tools (see Section 9 on Cookies and Analytics).
We do not collect special-category data (such as health, ethnicity or religion). If You volunteer such information when describing Your situation (for example, mentioning a disability that requires us to plan access), We use it only to deliver the Service safely and do not retain it longer than necessary.

4. Why We Use Your Data and Our Legal Basis
We use Your personal data for the following purposes, with the following legal bases under UK GDPR:
- To answer Your enquiry and prepare a quote — legal basis: taking steps at Your request prior to entering into a contract (Article 6(1)(b) UK GDPR).
- To carry out the Services You have booked — legal basis: performance of a contract with You (Article 6(1)(b) UK GDPR).
- To take payment, issue invoices and keep accounting records — legal basis: performance of a contract (Article 6(1)(b)) and compliance with Our legal obligations under UK tax law (Article 6(1)(c) UK GDPR).
- To meet legal and regulatory obligations — including issuing Gas Safety (CP12) certificates, recording gas-work notifications and complying with Gas Safe Register requirements (Article 6(1)(c) UK GDPR).
- To honour guarantees and respond to follow-up issues — legal basis: performance of a contract (Article 6(1)(b)) and Our legitimate interests in standing behind Our work (Article 6(1)(f) UK GDPR).
- To improve Our service, train staff and handle complaints — legal basis: Our legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f) UK GDPR).
- To send You service reminders (for example, annual boiler service or CP12 renewal) — legal basis: Our legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)), or Your consent where required. You can opt out of these reminders at any time.
We do not use Your personal data for marketing from third parties, and We do not sell Your data to anyone.
5. Who We Share Your Data With
We only share Your personal data with the following categories of recipient, and only where necessary:
- Our engineers and staff — so they can attend Your premises and carry out the Services.
- Our IT and email service providers — including Resend (for transactional email delivery) and Vercel (for website hosting and analytics). These providers process Your data on Our behalf and are bound by data protection contracts.
- Payment processors — to take card or bank-transfer payments securely. We do not see or store full card numbers.
- Our accountant, bookkeeper and tax authorities — for accounting and tax-compliance purposes (HMRC and similar).
- Gas Safe Register — when We issue or notify gas-related work, as required by law.
- Manufacturers (such as Worcester Bosch, Vaillant, Baxi, Ideal, Viessmann) — when We register Your new boiler or appliance for its manufacturer warranty.
- Insurers and claims handlers — if You are making an insurance claim relating to work We have carried out, or if We need to defend a claim made against Us.
- Debt-recovery and legal advisers — only if You fail to make payment (as set out in Clause 9 of Our Terms and Conditions).
- Law enforcement and regulators — where We are legally required to disclose information (for example, in response to a court order).
6. How Long We Keep Your Data
We keep Your personal data only for as long as We need it for the purposes for which it was collected, and to meet Our legal obligations. Typical retention periods are:
- Enquiries that do not result in a Booking — up to 12 months from the date of Your enquiry.
- Customer records, quotes, invoices and job records — at least 6 years from the date of the last transaction, in line with UK tax-record retention requirements.
- Gas Safety (CP12) records — at least 2 years, in line with Gas Safe Register requirements (We normally keep them for 6 years to align with general records).
- Call recordings — typically 90 days, unless retained for a specific complaint, dispute or training reason.
- Website analytics data — Vercel Analytics stores anonymised page-view data; retention is governed by Vercel's policies.
After the relevant retention period expires, We securely delete or anonymise Your data.
7. How We Protect Your Data
We take the security of Your personal data seriously. We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect data from unauthorised access, accidental loss, alteration or disclosure, including:
- HTTPS encryption on Our website and in all form submissions.
- Encrypted email transmission for sensitive communications.
- Reputable third-party providers (Vercel, Resend) with their own security standards and certifications.
- Access controls so that only staff who need to see Your data can access it.
- Secure disposal of paper records when no longer needed.
No system is completely secure, but We work to minimise the risk of a data breach. If a breach occurs that is likely to result in a risk to Your rights and freedoms, We will notify You and the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) as required by law.
8. Your Rights Under UK GDPR
Under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, You have the following rights in relation to Your personal data:

- Right to data portability — to receive Your data in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format.
- Right to object — to processing based on Our legitimate interests, including direct marketing or service reminders.
- Rights in relation to automated decision making — We do not use automated decision making or profiling.
To exercise any of these rights, please contact Us using the details in Section 14. We will respond within one calendar month. There is normally no charge, but We may make a reasonable charge for requests that are manifestly unfounded or excessive.
9. Cookies and Analytics
Our website uses a minimal set of cookies and analytics tools to keep the site working and to help Us understand how visitors use it:
- Essential cookies — required for the website to function (for example, remembering form submissions and security tokens). These do not need Your consent under UK law.
- Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights — privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics that collect anonymised page-view and performance data. No personally identifying information is collected.
We do not use third-party advertising cookies, tracking pixels (such as Facebook Pixel or Google Ads tracking) or behavioural-profiling cookies on this site.
You can control cookies through Your browser settings. Most browsers let You block or delete cookies; doing so may affect the functionality of Our website.
10. International Transfers
We are based in the United Kingdom and We process Your data primarily within the UK and the European Economic Area (EEA). Some of Our service providers (Vercel and Resend) operate servers outside the UK and EEA — typically in the United States. Where data is transferred outside the UK, We rely on one of the following legal safeguards as required by UK GDPR:
- an adequacy decision by the UK Government;
- Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the UK Information Commissioner;
- or another lawful transfer mechanism.
11. Children's Data
Our Services are intended for adult homeowners, tenants, landlords and businesses. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If You believe We have collected data from a child, please contact Us and We will delete it.
